Taking inspiration from the classic brasseries of Paris and the French Riviera, acclaimed restaurateurs Harry Ohayon & Maxime Bournazel are introducing a second venue – a brasserie called Mademoiselle – to Portside Wharf.
Following the continuing success of their first Portside Wharf venue, Rise Bakery, Mr. Ohayon said with Mademoiselle they wanted to create a charming space where guests can experience an elevated dining experience but at the same time bring family and friends somewhere comfortable and homely.
Designed by the renowned Sydney-based architect Tom Mark Henry and executed by the Lowry Group, the 245 sqm fitout brings a modern take on classic French style to Portside Wharf in both food and architecture. Marble tops and stone are complemented by bold color palettes and cozy booth seating, as well as a 100 sqm of alfresco dining space.
“Our vision is to create a warm, inviting space where people can enjoy long lunches, hearty dinners, and Sunday roasts with their loved ones” said Mr. Ohayon.
Mademoiselle’s menu whisks diners away to Paris with its blend of timeless French cuisine and modern innovations. Guests can savor rotisserie meats, gourmet salads, and daily chef specials.
Mr. Ohayon envisions Mademoiselle growing into a renowned brand with multiple locations across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. His intention is for each Mademoiselle location to reflect the unique identity of the local community, offering personalised menus while maintaining the core essence of the brand.
“We chose a name that radiates femininity, contrasting with the more masculine themes often seen in Brisbane’s dining scene. Mademoiselle captures the essence of a young, vibrant lady who embodies the spirit of family and community,” said Mr. Ohayon.
Brookfield Properties Executive Vice President Lee Butterworth said the arrival of Mademoiselle marks a new chapter in Portside Wharf’s journey, as we continue to enhance our waterfront village with world-class dining and retail experiences.
Mr. Butterworth said: “Our multi-million-dollar revitalisation has already met with great enthusiasm from both retailers and locals, who are embracing the dynamic atmosphere of our bustling hub.
“We are delighted to welcome Mademoiselle to Portside Wharf as the group’s second venue, following the success of Rise Bakery. Alongside this exciting addition, we are thrilled to announce new leases for “Gold Class Nails, Little Saigon Eatery, and Louise May Hair Extensions. These openings reflect our commitment to curating a diverse mix of retailers that complement each other and meet the needs of our community.
